How to measure a life? After a career of service, retired four-star general Stanley McChrystal had much to contemplate. He pondered his successes and failures, his beliefs and aspirations, and asked himself, Who am I, really? And more importantly, who have I become? When I die, how will I be measured? In the end, McChrystal came to a conclusion as simple as it was profound: the reality of who we are cannot be recorded in dates or accomplishments. It is found in our character—the most accurate, and last full measure, of who we choose to be.

Confidence is at the foundation of everything we do. It's the invisible power that propels you to dream bigger, take bold risks, and create a life you truly love. But for too many of us, confidence feels out of reach—reserved for those who seem to have it all together. But how can we tap into that kind of transformative power and find our self worth when we're buried under the voices of our inner critic, our inner competitor, the needling lies that say we’ll never quite be enough?

Women experience money differently than men do. In the United States, women have only 55 cents for every dollar of wealth held by men, are more likely to end up in poverty following a divorce, and are less likely to retire with the resources they need. What can women do to build wealth and claim financial power in a system that wasn’t designed for them? Katie Gatti Tassin, personal finance writer and host of the popular podcast The Money with Katie Show, has built an energized following of smart, ambitious women seeking a deeper understanding of the financial issues that affect them.

Everyone needs a kick in the ass from time to time

First of all, this isn't a traditional self-help book. This is a collection of life coaching sessions with an expert in the field, each with a new client with a different set of problems they want help addressing. Mel is truly skilled at drilling down to the source of an issue that someone is having, and really gets to the heart of the problem quickly. She is incredibly honest and grounded, and I couldn’t help but fall in love with her approach. Even if you don't identify directly with each person, you'll surely gain some insight into how you can take a look at your own life and identify areas where you could use a little help. Now that I've finished, I'm off to listen to the rest of Mel's books!

Brene Browm Always Keeps It Real

I read this book about 9 or 10 years ago and loved it! Now the updated version keeps it real for where we are struggling today. I listened to it twice ... the first time in drives to work and the second, at home in the quiet while making notes for myself! Love the guideposts! This book supports me in leading my best life....my goal presently! Thank you Brene!

Good tips for all ages

This is the type of book I wish I had of listened to when I was younger. It's full of CBT and mindfulness strategies and exercises that are professionally approved, but delivered in a way that only Dan Howell can. I know this book will help a lot of young people, but I think it will also help a lot of people age 30+ too. Even for those who have already been to therapy or are being treated for mental health conditions, You Will Get Through This Night is chalk full of great reminders.

For context I listen / read a book a month.Neil has great advice from lessons learned. Above all, what I loved about this audiobook, is the way the author talks to the audience in a passionate engaging voice. Many great authors read their book or hire a speaker, and the result is often monotone. Not so with this material.Neil talks to us.

Whether it's through late night TV ads, social media, or other sources of influence, we seem to be addicted to buying and then storing things. Sometimes we consume with no regret and other times we realize that we're doing more harm than good to our wallets and our homes. It's a constant cycle - one that many are longing to break. We are exhausted. There's so much to do, and way too much to buy. Whether it's through late night TV ads, social media, or other sources of influence, we seem to be addicted to buying and then storing things. Sometimes we consume with no regret and other times we realize that we're doing more harm than good to our wallets and our homes. It's a constant cycle - one that many are longing to break. Who wants their hard-earned money to go toward something that soon ends up in a landfill?

While the world seems to be in love with the idea of tiny houses and minimalism, many of us simply can't purge it all and start from nothing. Yet a home with too much stuff is difficult to maintain, so where do we begin? Add in paralyzing emotional attachments and constant life challenges, and it can feel almost impossible to make real decluttering progress.

For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

If you want to change the world, start off by making your bed. On May 17, 2014, Admiral William H. McRaven addressed the graduating class of the University of Texas at Austin on their Commencement day. Taking inspiration from the university's slogan, "What starts here changes the world," he shared the ten principles he learned during Navy Seal training that helped him overcome challenges not only in his training and long Naval career, but also throughout his life; and he explained how anyone can use these basic lessons to change themselves - and the world - for the better.

Our brains do their best to help us out, but every so often they can be real assholes - having meltdowns, getting addicted to things, or shutting down completely at the worst possible moments. Your brain knows it's not good to do these things, but it can't help it sometimes - especially if it's obsessing about trauma it can't overcome. That's where this life-changing book comes in. With humor, patience, science, and lots of good-ole swearing, Dr. Faith explains what's going on in your skull, and talks you through the process of retraining your brain to respond appropriately....
